Step into the newly reimagined Ground Floor at Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge to experience ‘Take a Seat’, an installation by Brigitta Spinocchia Freund in collaboration with PAD London – the leading fair for historical and contemporary design.
Marking the first exhibition in the curated space, ‘Take a Seat’ brings together 30 chairs from design icons and emerging talent alike, exploring craftsmanship, materiality and innovation through key pieces such as Jean Prouvé’s Kangourou Armchair, Charlotte Perriand’s Meibel Chairs, Onno Adriaanse’s Hedera Armchair, Alvar Aalto’s Small Paimio and Maria Pergay’s Ribbon Chair.
Curated for moments of reflection, discovery and a deeper appreciation of the art of seating, the display invites you to move among masterpieces including Gerrit Rietveld’s Steltman Chair and Hans J. Wegner’s Johannes Hansen Armchair, alongside a special ‘Makers Wishing Wall’ spotlighting creatives and makers from across the United Kingdom.
Each piece chosen for its character, narrative and craftsmanship, the installation continues throughout the store, with many of the chairs also available to acquire.
‘Take a Seat’ opens at 125, Harvey Nichols Knightsbridge on Friday 10 October.
